Key Contact: Dr. Vrinda Patil (Clinical Director)

Event Date: 29th March 2026

We are delighted to share the resounding success of our recent proactive health outreach event held at the Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara in Bedford.

Initiated and led by our Clinical Director, Dr. Vrinda Patil, this population health initiative brought preventative care directly to the heart of the community.

Care-Coordinators Laura Warner, Concetta Picanza, Luana Iannantuono, and Georgina Acatrinei successfully managed on-site logistics, flow, and data collection and also the physical check-ups.

Local MP – Mr. Mohammad Yasin – was in attendance to support the initiative.

The event quickly grew into a fantastic collaborative effort, with clinical directors and staff from neighbouring Bedfordshire PCNs joining forces.

🌟 Impact in Numbers-

200+ Community members engaged.

🩺 What We Delivered

Our team set up a seamless, multi-station clinical flow to maximize patient engagement closer to their homes:

Cancer Screening Education: Clinical Directors delivered vital information regarding national screening pathways (Bowel, Breast, and Cervical), answered sensitive queries, and successfully dismantled cultural taboos.

Physical Health Checks: Volunteers and clinical staff measured heights, weights, blood pressure (BP), and pulses.

Lifestyle Risk Assessment: Crucial data regarding smoking status and alcohol consumption was gathered.

💾 Data Integration & Next Steps

To ensure robust continuity of care, all physical metrics and lifestyle data collected on the day have been securely sent back to patients’ respective GP practices.

Practices ensured that these metrics were updated on their records and plans are to actively follow up on any abnormal parameters and high-risk flags identified during the camp.

💬 Patient & Community Feedback

Formal feedback was obtained from the attendees. The feedback was incredibly positive. Attendees expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to discuss screening pathways and get their vitals checked in a familiar, culturally accessible environment.

THANK YOU

A massive thank you to Dr Vrinda Patil, Laura, Connie, Luana and Georgiana and to everyone who volunteered their time to make this neighbourhood health delivery model such a triumph!
